30.11, SATURDAY
8:00PM - 9:10PM

(Doors open at 7:40PM, you are encouraged to arrive 20 min before the start of the performance.)

Join us for the highly anticipated premiere of Body History, which extends beyond its gallery roots, continuing a journey of questioning and transformation. This work, by Artistic Director Hong Guofeng, invites you to consider the body as a living repository of memories–fluid, ever-shifting, and deeply human. Prepare yourself for a vivid sensory experience with shifting lights capes, evocative projections, and mirrored reflections alongside the spirited soundscape of local music artists, Redwan Hamzah, Namie Rasman and Rudi Osman. Body History was originally commissioned, developed, and presented as part of National Gallery Singapore’s Resonates With Residency (April to June 2023) in response to the Gallery’s exhibitions Living Pictures: Photography in Southeast Asia and Siapa Nama Kamu? Art in Singapore since the 19th Century.

Unsound.Bodies, 4th Edition

Unsound_edited.jpg

15.12, SUNDAY
6:30PM - 7:30PM

(Booking this performance allows you to attend the Open Jam at 8PM for free!)

Unsound.Bodies is back! Movement & Music Improvisers: To be revealed on @12.ance Instagram. Unsound.Bodies is an initiative by independent dance artist Hong Guofeng that explores the relationship between movement and music. The performance itself embodies the practice of the Unsound.Bodies score, developed by pioneering artists during its first edition. Departing from conventional performances with pre-defined choreography and music, Unsound.Bodies blurs the lines between performers and audience members, creating a collaborative environment that fosters shared experiences and collective expression, prompting reflection on each participant's role. By embracing spontaneity and real-time collaboration, Unsound.Bodies encourages individuals to explore their own interpretations and emotional responses, inviting them to become co-creators in a living performance. Join the performers in an intimate dialogue between movement and music, where all participants intersect, co-exist, or diverge in the magic of spontaneous and unscripted collaboration. Visit @Unsound.Bodies on Instagram for a visual diary of these improvisers' explorations and past editions of Unsound.Bodies. Booking this performance allows you to attend the Open Jam at 8PM for free! So stay and jam with us after the performance!

Body QUARTET (身體重奏)
KLDSCP.VII Work-In-Progress Sharing

Body Quartet.jpg

07.12, SATURDAY
2:30PM - 3:00PM

How do we dance as/with a different body? Body QUARTET project is exploring a/typical body and its presence, absence, the state of in-between. Is there a possibility for a duet to be reimagined as a QUARTET? Join Liang Chun-Wen (TW) and Tung Ka Wai (SG) for a short Work-in-Progress studio sharing session as part of their cross-border collaboration. Bring your presence, energy, and feedback to be part of this research. Chun-Wen started Body QUARTET as an investigation to how different bodies, typical and atypical, can move together through improvisation. In Aug/Sept 2024, Chun-Wen invited musicians and movement artists to work with him in this research, which culminated into two open sharings at Guling Street Avant-Garde Theatre in Taiwan. This coming cross-broader edition in Singapore will be held under 12.ance Festival and joined by local artist Ka Wai. This duet project would be looking for body commonality in movements, whereas the movers would walk deep into a dialogue with the idea of ‘Other’. " – KLDSCP (Kaleidoscope) is a platform initiated by Sigma to support the development of works by independent artist/ arts groups. It is an ecosystem of support for new works as we bring together a community of performance art makers of various disciplines, mentors, producers, directors and most importantly, the audience.
